Other than the somewhat unremarkable Trackside Bar and Grill, Butler isn’t a town where you’ll necessarily find Zaccardi’s lagers on tap. Up the road in West Milford though, Tuscany Brewhouse (973-545-2700; www.tuscanybrewhouse.com) is a dependable place to find Ramstein seasonals like Winter Wheat (9.5% ABV) alongside handles from Ithaca and Saranac. The rich complexity of this dopplebock is well-suited for many of the grilled items on the menu, such as the blackened Delmonico’s steak topped with mushrooms and pan-fried onions. Continuing west, you’ll reach Sparta and its Mohawk House restaurant (973-729-6464; www.mohawkhouse.com) serving seasonal American fare in an elegant main dining room with a vaulted ceiling and a huge fieldstone fireplace. Ramstein Blonde (5.4-5.5% ABV), which is exceptional on its own, intertwines perfectly with the berry parfait tart on the dessert menu, matching the sweetness of the cream filling and the buttery texture of the pastry shell. East of High Point, the Taphouse Grille (973-832-4141; www.taphousenj.com) in Wayne serves a bratwurst with applewood smoked bacon, roasted potatoes, and lager-infused sauerkraut that wants to be washed down with Revelation (3.9% ABV), Ramstein’s crisp, effervescent golden lager.
